Gyumed Tantric University is located in the Tibetan Settlement in Karnataka State, Mysore Dist., Hunsur Taluk.
The main transportation to reach the venue is by flight to Bangalore and a taxi to Hunsur Tibetan Settlement.
There are some options for flights, including Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways.
It is recommended to contact the host monk for the arrangement of transportation before your arrival for safety concerns.
Gyumed Tantric University (including “School for Higher Studies and Practice in Sutra and Tantra” and “School of Snowland Tibetan Studies”) is located in the Tibetan Settlement, a special protected area planned by Indian government for Tibetan people in exile.
Visitors needs to apply for PAP (Protected Area Permit) at least six months (the soonest three months) in advance by submitting the application to Indian government in Delhi (Information please refer to Central Tibetan Administration website http://tibetbureau.in/protected-area-permit-pap/).
Lay practitioners studying in School of Snowland Tibetan Studies in Gyumed Tantric University will be accommodated in on-campus dormitory. The School will help students to apply for PAP beforehand.
Only the students with PAP are allowed to stay on campus in the Tibetan Settlement. Without the PAP, students can only stay in Indian villages outside the Tibetan Settlement.
